Fola Evans-Akingbola Parents Sola and Gillian Evans

Fola Evans-Akingbola parents Sola Akingbola and Gillian Evans raised her in the Southeast London district of Bermondsey. 

Her dad is a musician, and her uncle, James Olatokunbo Akingbola, is an English actor. 

Her parental great-grandmother was a performer, poet, and oral historian. Her entire household was Egungun lived with a remembering family and cultural history.

Her ancestor is of the Yoruba tribe who moved from Nigeria to London. 

Her dad followed his grandmother's family line, and he is the grandson of Egungun. He dedicated his creative exploration to his father's wonderful mother, Arinola Kaletu - Esubiyi Akingbola.

Fola Evans-Akingbola father Sola Akingbola is a musician, composer, songwriter, and band leader. He was 20 years old when he desired to be a percussionist.

The musician completed his graduation from Howard University in Washington, DC. 

He listens, learns, and has been inspired by a different creative medium. Sola Akingbola says classics were his favorite subject at school, especially the great Greek playwrights.

His brother Lokua is the one who encouraged him in his career. Sola mentioned without him, he would not be an artist.

He recorded his first tracks for Jamiroquai 28 years ago. He felt proud to be part of an iconic album alongside Mr. Kay and Mr. Toby Smith. 

He is known for his work in Lone Survivor, 'The Devil Wears Prada,' and Sliding Doors. 

The musician has worked in the TV series as a composer for 34 episodes from 2019 to 2022 in Bob Hearts Abishola. 

He wrote the video game Need for Speed: Mos Wanted, So You Think You Can Dance, Elite Beat Agents, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and The Greatest Dancer.

Mother Gillian Evans

Fola Evans-Akingbola mother Gillian Evans is an urban anthropologist, yogi, and photographer. She investigates human social and cultural life in 21st Century cities. 

She joined the School of Oriental, where she studied social anthropology. The yoga teacher completed her master's and Ph.D. at Brunel University in the Centre for Child-Focoused Anthropology Research. 

During her Ph.D. research, Gillian Evans released an ethnographic monograph about social class, multiculturalism, and ethnicity in Britain.  

She shares specific research interests in post-industrial Britain, education, social class, personhood, and phenomenology. 

She was the only person in the research team to get entry to an Olympic planning operation. 

In 2018, the anthropologist started the WeAreAllWindrush T-shirt campaign with her daughter to raise awareness and financial aid for Windrush Generation people in the UK.

⁠She has been practicing yoga for over thirty years. She is devoted to the transformational possibility of yoga, so she leads yoga classes and workshops in London and Manchester.⁠

Besides this, the yogi is a member of the teaching faculty of the Advanced Yoga Teacher Training program guided by Anna Ashby and Jeane Hall at Triyoga.⁠
